Cheese Sticks




Laden with energy, protein and calcium, these sticks will serve as a perfect snack in between meals for your child. Your toddler will love these sticks because of their crispy and crunchy texture, which also enhances the chewing ability of your little one.




Preparation Time: 
Makes 14 sticks.

Ingredients

1 cup whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
5 tbsp butter
4 tbsp grated processed cheese
2 pinches of salt
whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta) for rolling


Method

  1. Sieve the flour and add the salt.
  2. Rub the butter into the flour with your fingertips till the mixture resembles bread crumbs.
  3. Add the cheese and mix well.
  4. Add the water (approx. 1 tablespoon) and make a dough.
  5. Divide the dough into 2 equal portions.
  6. Roll out 1 portion of the dough on a lightly floured board to about 6 mm. (¼") thickness using a little flour for rolling.
  7. Cut into 50 mm. (2") long strips using a knife.
  8. Repeat steps 6 and 7 to make more sticks.
  9. Arrange the sticks on an ungreased baking tray and bake in a pre-heated oven at 200ºc (400°f) for 10 to 12 minutes.
  10. Cool completely and store in an air-tight container.
